The Morphetica series is named for Morpheus, the Greek god of dreams. These paintings are inspired by recurring dreamscapes, twilight awareness, altered states, and hypnopompic hallucinations—vivid sensory experiences that occur as a person is waking up from sleep—that I have experienced for as long as I can remember, though they are far less frequent as an adult.
